QuidelOrtho Announces Leadership Changes

QuidelOrtho's board of directors recently made the decision to terminate Chief Executive Douglas Bryant, resulting in the postponement of its investor-day presentation. Bryant, who has been CEO since 2009, has also resigned from the company's board, marking a significant shift in leadership.

New Office of the CEO Formed

In order to maintain business continuity, the board established an office of the chief executive officer. This office will be overseen by Chief Commercial Officer Michael Iskra, Chief Operating Officer Robert Bujarski, and Chief Financial Officer Joseph Busky. Iskra has been appointed as interim CEO, while Bujarski has taken on the role of interim president on top of their existing responsibilities.

Focus on Accelerating Initiatives

Chairman Kenneth Buechler emphasized the need for a change in leadership to expedite efforts to enhance efficiencies, drive growth, and increase shareholder value. Despite these changes, QuidelOrtho stated that its financial guidance remains unchanged from the previous week, where the company reported a decline in quarterly profit due to a slowdown in the Covid-test business.
